Prologue

For Honor. A popular game that was expanded into something far bigger. In Eric's time, it was expanded into something larger. A VR game where people played as Knights, Samuria, or Vikings to win honor and glory for their factions. This VR experience was known as "For Glory". It was in this game that Eric was a legend in his own right. He was the chieftain of his own Viking clan, the Great Wolf Clan. And he was known as Wolf Fang Eric, master of weapons and honorable to death, he was credit to his people.

but then came that day....where he was forced to say goodbye to his world....and his friends as well.

~~Fort Hawldwin, the main fortress of the Great Wolf Clan~~

A large, Viking fortress built and strengthened by the hard work and strength of Eric and his friends. It was a large mideval looking castle atop a large hill at the side of an even larger mountain. A large, outer wall circled around an even bigger one with many towers and structures it. The largest structure was set against the mountain which served as the main hall. In front of that hall was a large courtyard with many figures surrounding a pyre. These included people from different factions though. Vikings, Knights, and Samuria. Only a few people compared to the endless numbers of people playing, but there was a reason for this gathering. It was their goodbye to Eric.

Naturally, this included Vikings from Eric's clan. Some of his closest friends held this pyre. They were dressed in different kinds of cloths. Some in heavy armor and some without any. Next were a group of Knights draped in various patterns with color schemes of yellow, orange, and black. They were members of the Griffon Legion, a popular legion started by Eric's younger brother, Lucas, a long time ago. At the head of these knights was a young man dressed in heavy looking armor with a silver battle axe sheathed on his back in the shape of a griffon with it's feathered wings serving as the blades. Along with the, were the Samuria group, representing House Hayai Chi. Their color scheme was red, black, and white and at the head of them was a young man dressed like a Kensei, his nodachi sheathed on his back. He was Mathew Blackwood, eldest of brother to Lucas and Eric. He wasn't the Master of the house, but was the most respected and skilled generals of it. And not at all a bad warrior. Next to him was a Shugoki. He was Slayer, Mathew's second in command.

With Eric's disappearance without a trace, everyone was saddened, but doing their best to stay strong for him. Without a body to set to the flame, the group did what they could to honor his memory. A young man from the Viking group, Daniel, came forward, holding a dane axe. He slammed the pommel into the ground, and said, "The Warcheif of the Great Wolf clan, leader of the pack. You will be missed." Daniel said. Everyone bowed their heads in respect. Mathew, it had seemed, was the most upset. Naturally due to this being a second time.

"First Lucas and now Eric. I'm so sorry, Mathew. I can't even imagine how hard this must be." Slayer said with a saddened tone. "You can't...that's absolutely right. My brothers disappeared right underneath me and...and nothing can be done to prevent it." Mathew said with what sounded like a mixture of frustration and sadness. "But...it helps to know he had such great friends."

The pyre continued and and the young knight with the axe stepped forward to pay his respects next. Mathew knew of this legion that he was apart of. It was the one his youngest brother formed after all. However, he never met that man before. He walked ahead. "Excuse me, sir knight. I don't think we've met." Mathew stated as he met with this young man. "You must be Mathew, Eric's elder brother?" The young man questioned, to which Mathew nodded. "I am know as Alexander. But you may call me Alex. I dueled with your brother when my legion was last in these lands. He bested me well and proved to be a very honorable man. It's my respect for him that brings me here." He explained.

"Alexander of the Great Axe? I heard of you. You're name is on many lips as is your Griffon Legion. I am honored we met." Mathew explained, bowing his head with respect. "I was hoping we would meet in the battlefield as opposed to a pyre. Eric spoke highly of you after the battle. As did Lord Lucas before he...vanished as well." Alex said with a somewhat regretful tone. "I am terribly sorry, Mathew. They both were good men. Men in which I would gladly raise my axe for." He stated. "That means a lot, Alex. Thank you." Mathew said.

The pyre continued on with the people continuing to grieve. As it was wrapping up. A hooded figure in completely red samurai armor cake walking out from the shadows. "Well isn't this a 'lovely' sight." He said as he appeared, his hood still over his head. The sinister sound of the voice instantly drew Mathew's attention first. Then the rest of the group. "We are in a game of war and this...this is what I find. Knights, vikings, samurai. All joined together. How...disappointing." These words caused enough anger already. But it was another close friend of Eric's, Richard, that asked the question, "Who the hell are you?!" The man only grinned behind his hood and chuckled.

"Wait...I know you." Mathew said. The man chuckled again and replied, "It's been a while, Mathew." He then unveiled his hood to reveal his face. He looked to been in his early twenties. He was an Asian looking young man with short black hair and a scar across the bridge of his nose. "Asura!" Mathew said upon the sight of him. "You know this man?" Daniel asked. "He was apart of our house before we expelled him recently. He had ideals that went completely against our will so we wanted nothing to do with them. When he pushed too far to make them a reality, he was exiled." Mathew explained. "He bears the demon name, Asura. The Gluton of Power."

"Now now, Mathew. No need for such harsh words. I'm here to pay my respects." Asura stated as he took another step froward. "Not another step!" Mathew said, reaching for his nodachi. "How the hell did he get in here anyway?" Daniel demanded. "Most of our clan is here. It's just AI that're guarding the keep. Perhaps he snuck past them." Richard suggested. "Come on everyone. Let's just stop and think about all this. We are bringing our IRL problems into a game. Is that really appropriate?" Asura asked. "Eric was a dear friend to all of us. Who cares if we are on different sides. We still care when we lose someone we love." Alex suggested.

"Alex of the Great Axe, you disappoint me. I was expecting better from you." Asura stated. "Just say what you need to say and begon, Asura. None of us will tolerate you." Mathew stated. Asura took another few steps closer to Mathew and said, "What I want is for the truth to be known. This...is stupidity!" He said, right to Mathew's face. "We are in the middle of a war, and this is how we behave? Like petty, weeping children?!" He yelled. "Asura..." Mathew mumbled as he grit his teeth. "You're brother's gone. Oh well. This ain't the place for that kinda drama!" Asura would have said more, but slayer interfered. Raising his kanabo in front of the young man, he said, "Say another disrespectful thing like that, and you're gonna get crushed like the maggot you are." The caused Asura to stand down and back away. "No leave." Mathew said.

"Mark my words, 'Ken no Tamashi'!" Asura said in a demanding tone to Mathew. "This is far from over. In fact, this is only...the beginning." With that warning, he vanished into the dark corners. "What a fucking creep." Daniel stated.

Richard watched as he disappeared and said to himself, "This won't be the last we hear of him..."
